Version 2.5 has been released.  You can download the latest release at (tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/Ap… or the project home page of (membres.lycos.fr/jfbouzereau/a… are the details:
In the edit window, preview and main display update can be
disabled/enabled by clicking on the preview image.

Individual transform can be disabled/enabled with a
checkbox on the "Xform" tab, or by double-clicking
the corresponding triangle. Disabling a transform
as the same effect as deleting it temporarily.
At least one transform must be enabled. The program
wont let disabling the last enabled transform.

The format of the setting file has been adapted
for more than 64 variations.

The wiki page electricsheep.wikispaces.com/R…
is loaded at launch time and used as a reference to know
which variation is compatible with the sheep server.

In the "variations" tab of the "options" panel, the
variations are sorted alphabetically and the group
number is indicated, to find them easier in the
hierarchical menu.

In addition, I've released a new set of plugins
with 9 variations added, in order to be compatible
with the current version of flam3. The plugin
archive can be downloaded from the projet home page.
The 41 variations are :

Just updated my Java to 7 and discovered that there is no memory allocation problem - I can now render large images with no trouble…

I'm now getting a warning from Java that the certificate needs to be updated or the program will not run in future Java releases…?

I'm using the version that downloads and runs every time it's 'opened' from:

Hi,
Love being able to use this on the Mac;
Have a script question - I'm a java noob and was trying to get the rotate script from the Windows program to work here, but get an error.

Script I copied :

{ Rotate the reference triangle continuously }
{ Hit any key to stop }
Flame.SampleDensity := 1;
while not Stopped do
begin
RotateReference(3.6);
Preview;
end;

error msg is:
missing ; before statement (line 0)

Any help would be really appreciated! thanks,
Jeff

Just 'watched' you. I am using apo j 2.7. Have one heck of a time rendering, often images turn up black after a 3 sec render. Some do have some of the color but often not all. I am wondering if there is maybe a problem with the gradients? An in-depth look at how apo-j renders would be cool! Still not sure what the filter radius and oversample are all about :/ (not to mention I do not have the option to save as png at all)

How do you change the memory allocation for Mac users? I can't figure it out. Thanks.

Does anyone know where I can find the script that allocates memory to apo by just clicking on it. I had it working long time ago but it disappeared from my desktop. Thanks. Ursula

Hello, I am new to apophysis and apophyisis-j.
I use apophysis-j on leopard with the last java machine.
I have a problem with the custom gradients.
First, the standard gradients are not in a ugr filebut inside a class, so they cannot be browsed, just loaded to see what they are and that is time consuming. So I tried other gradients packs, they can be browsed ok but since I didnt find what I wanted, I made a personnal one with the smoth palette. The result appears in the colors windows and can be used in the preview but :
1/ The smoth palette doesnt seems to be able to save it into a ugr file for later use.
2/ Once satisfied with the preview, I tried a rendering and it run in an impressive lack of time, ( usually it takes about 10 minutes to complete ) and render an absolutely black file. Several tries ( in case I had made a mistake ) gave a consistent result : file is created totally black in no time, no error message is issued. Memory and quality setting are ok, the memory setting is done a launch time and there is enough, quality setting is from 2000 to 4000 ( tried several ).
Thank you for the help.

Hey guys, I just wanted to stop by and let people know about a new project I've been working on. I'm writing some scripts to allow you to start up Terminal, run apophysis through the command line and allocate Set amounts of RAM with a single double-click. That should make Apo-J more pleasant to use on the mac platform.

I have a couple that seem to work but I've only tested them under MacOS 10.5.3 Leopard on two of my household macs (2 ghz Intel iMac, and 933 mhz iBook G4.)

I'll keep you guys posted about my progress.

Ok I've finished making the scripts, they are posted on my journal. They work great in MacOS 10.5.3 but it's untested on Tiger, Panther, etc.

Hope somebody finds it useful.
